GB Plates/Euro Plates
#1
I know this has been asked before, but I do not recall seeing a definite answer + the search thingy is not working:
If you have Euro style number plates front and reat displaing GB (in blue - NOT the St George flag) do you still need the oval white GB sticker?

I'm going to have to disagree with the above I'm afraid.
If you have the blue and yellow GB symbol on your number plate you don't need a seperate GB sticker like before. If you don't have the plates then you still need to display a GB sticker.

I think this makes it clear that you still need it if you don't have the gb plates.
THE EURO-PLATE AND OTHER SYMBOLS AND EMBLEMS
From September 2001 there will be an optional provision for the display of the Euro-plate within the United Kingdom. The Euro-plate is a number plate that incorporates the symbol of the European Union (a circle of 12 stars on a blue background) with the national identification letters of the member state below. This symbol is located on the left-hand side of the number plate.
Vehicles displaying this symbol will no longer have to use the traditional oval shaped national identifier (GB) sticker when travelling within the European Union. All vehicles registered in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have, by international convention, the distinguishing sign GB.
The symbol of the European Union combined with the national identifier GB is the only symbol permitted on UK number plates. No other symbols are permitted on number plates.
