So jezza basically said the new Subaru is pants,**** he didn't even bother with it really did he,just did donuts round the scoob in the Evo.and rightly so,I still don't like the new scoob and probably never will,bring back the classic subaru....

 

Except for one small thing:

It beat the Evo around the TG test track!

Now there is a turn up for the books: the ugliest, most unpopular Impreza has beaten the traditionally more track focused Evo at it's own game.

Evo have also said they prefer the Impreza, and they typically have preferred the Evo in the past.

There is something to this new car, I don't personally like it much at the moment, but Subaru have clearly done something right with it ..... Need to get behind the wheel.

I thought as a kid the original Subaru impress looked sh1te and still do, My dream car was a monaro Having driven a subaru though I would not be happier driving anything else.

 

top spec evo x fq360 v std sti....well done top gear but was funny when they used a 300bhp evo v sti and sti was faster

 

MMMM yea it did beat the evo round the track,and i was surprised at that..but seeing the scoob go round the track,it just didnt look like a scoob,it looked tame,unagressive.i was just seeing mk 1 bmw.I don't know what it is with this scoob,but i know straight after TG,i got in my scoob went for a blast,and it made everything good again...btw i got a proper scoob,cough cough....

 

The git compared that shabby piece of engineering to the mighty Nottingham Forest. I hope he doesn't step into the City Ground anytime soon or the Trent End faithful will lynch him.

 

To be far to Jezza and top gear, they have always had a bit of a soft spot for Subaru. I think they were as dissapointed as anyone that they didn't take to the new one.

I'm pretty sure I would still be happy with the looks of the Evo over the Impreza, despite it being half a second slower raound Tsukuba to be honest

 

I drove the later Scooby round Castle Combe on a track day and was very impressed with its performance and roadholding for a bog standard car.
