Paul,

I don't commute on this route, but have a look at the front page of

National Rail Enquiries - Official source for rail information, UK train times and timetables

there's a new feature called season ticket calculator and this gives the price at £3884 for 12 months. I don't think this includes the tube so you'd have to add another £70 a month at a guess.

Just put in Swindon to London and the price it gave me is the price I pay including all zones.

Paul,

I commute this line although not from Northampton and without undergound cost me £2600 last year for a season ticket. IIRC underground as well was £500 to £600 more.

Silverlink used to publish their prices on the website but since it's now London Midland....

For a season ticket quote for your journey, visit your local London Midland staffed station or telephone Customer Relations on 08456 024 277 for further details.

Cheers Nigel you're right, it doesn't seem to include tube prices but we don't need this and it gives us a price without having to pay for the phone call!!!

You might find an Oyster card is cheaper in London. Easy to use and automatic top-up when down to the last £5 too.
