VPOWER!!!
today i filled up my car with the 95ron, (as usual )
the checkout dude said to me.. "no, V POWER?" (the one on jct 35a m1)
i said "nah, can't afford it"
he said "all the subaru drivers fill up on vpower. as it gives you more mpg"
now i didn't knew that. i thought it is just helps the car perform better.
i never put anything other than basic UL.
can someone confirm that except for maybe a better drive/power?
is it really more MPG?
i wanna know is it worth the extra 5-6p per litre

the only other benefit it has is it performs better on the car.
its like mineral water, but vpower is mineral water with ginseng

so should i try vpower next time?
filled £42 of 95 today, so maybe in 10 days time i will try vpower?
ahhhh , then thats ok, if it kinda balances it all out,
the only other benefit it has is it performs better on the car.

I have not run mine on anything but Optimax/V-Power since I got it 2 years ago.
on UK cars if you look behind the fuel flap you will see "super unleaded only" so 97ron minimum.
jap cars are pre-set for 100 ron so with V-power being 99 it's the best we can get straight from the pumps.(not including BP have your pants down 102ron fuel at £2 odd per litre!)
If you don't use good fuel it's like buying a thoroughbred race horse and feeding it s**t!
Just my 2p

and see how much difference it makes.. if any.. on mpg
I really don't understand why people choose to buy a performance car and then skimp on proper petrol (which these cars need!), saying they cannot afford it. These cars cost an arm and leg to run full stop, so if you can't afford the extra £1.50 or so to use V Power each fill up then you can't really afford the car in the first place.
V Power is 99RON mate.

when i bought my car i was slightly better off, now i'm on very low pay, which i can just afford bread and water
What's the average mpg? 30 if driven easy? 20-25 if driven harder, so that allegded 30miles per tank more is another gallon of 95ron at least at around £4.70ish per gallon or the extra Vpower for £3
plus if you have a tweaked engine it offers more protection against det.So it sounds like a no brainer.
(except I've never run my car on 95 to see if I get 30miles less
)
According to the manual a bug eye will run on 95 RON OK even though the filler cap says SUL only. SUL will give better performance though the MPG difference is marginal - esp. as the extra zest from SUL does tend to make the old right foot a tad heavier!
Ahh, but if you look at the back cover of the owners manual (UK edition), it can say differently.

"Premium" and "Super" in many countries can mean very different RON ratings of fuel.
