A new style of browser seems is currently in development. Shows you everything in 3D:

SpaceTime™

Seems reasonably good, just fiddling around with it now.

I thought it was reasonable. It needs more work so that you can easily wander around the 3D environment it makes. Could be good in the future.

Had this on Linux for ages now, full on proper 3D desktop thanks to Compiz/Beryl etc

Erm, in a word I would say yes. You don't get something for nothing, well apart from the software itself which is free

What is the point? Seems to me like it would just waste resources. It seems to offer nothing more than tabbed browsing, just some glitzy effects.

Quite nice for image searches when you manage to walk around different searches as if you are in an FPS game. You can see a little more of what is going on.

Needs more work though.

Is Vista any good yet, or should I stick with good old XP?

If you have lots of software then stick with XP imo. I fix computers and Vista has just about broken every single piece of software I like to use in some way or other Normally you just need new versions of things, but there is little benefit so it just does not really seem worth it.

Only bother if you have a decent modern computer to cope with the overhead(2gig RAM, Intel core2 etc.)
