might be the seal, but check the level first.Might be as easy as sticking a piece of cardboard underneath the leading edge to tilt it back a tad.

either that or its that elephant in the butter dish again

To rejuvinate a tired fridge seal......

get a hairdryer, and set it to hot, then play it accross the compressed seal..

it will expand again, and the seal should be restored

Its the little man inside who operates the light - he's pushing the door open to freak you out!

These are magnetic so shouldn't loose their strength, but if they are dirty or deformed it may prevent a good connection and hence the door opens.

Try cleaning it with hot soapy water and even the hairdryer trick.

Good luck.

sounds like a new fridge now then, unless you can get a new seal.

Surely if its magnetic, you can re-magnetise it somehow?

No. It's magnetic rubber in an extruded plastic seal.

Tou could try to remove the seal and then extract the magnetic rubber to see if it's degraded. It's unlikely, but possible. If it has there are several magnet manufacturers who could supply replacement magnetic rubber. TBH though, it's hardly worth the hassle is it; fridges are quite cheap.
