I saw it and I was impressed by the way lads 10 years my junior were able to cope with getting shot out on a daily basis.:

I was also disgusted by the way the only time the afghans were talking to them they were demanding money. worse still, they were getting it in spadeloads.

Disgraceful.

Makes me glad I never took it any further than the POC course I did many moons ago as I'd never have got through the training but it does show what a good unit the Corps is. Shame more twentysomethings didn't have to do something similar.

Yes, was very impressed by how our young lads conducted themselves under fire - they're so matter of fact about it all, no panic, the training just seems to rake over. Was good to see some of the Afghans saying they preferred having the Brits and the Afghan Army around that the Taleban. Unfortunately, looks like it's going to be a long haul.

Makes me realise how ill preprepared my brief TA training would have made me if I'd had to go into combat !

That adopted mongrel made me laugh when they went out on night patrol - all low key, hush, hush stuff until the dog insisted on coming along but it was even funnier when they were involved in that firefight with some aerial bombardment and the dog simply curled up for a kip! Classic.

Good series, thought Panorama was also exellent and showed what us soldiers have to deal with day in,day out!!! hopefully the british public will not allow the government to forget the injured soldiers needs etc.

Also enjoy these programmes as it shows me what to expect when i go to Helmand next year.proper scary.

Excellent show.

All of the UK armed forces have earned my utmost respect.

Excellent stuff, showed our armed forces in a very good light particularly when you see footage of the Amercans when under fire.

Glad to see others watch aswell.

The programme makes the hairs stand up the back of my neck and sometimes a lump in me throat. I did 7 years as a Royal Marine and I am very proud to still have my Green lid.........oh and the Commando tattoo that we were all branded with.

Any more ex/booties ?
