I've just heard on the news that in London up to 300 traffic police are to be redeployed to try and combat street crime - sense at last.
Still the police and the home secretary are also going to tell us this afternoon that the risk of crime is a lot lower than we actually think and crime is at the lowest level for 20 years.
Yeah right!

tiggers.

About fr1gging time! I for one am sick and tired of the level of crime in the capital when they can still deploy dozens of coppers to mount speed traps on roads that are not accident blackspots.
My (female) boss was mugged twice last year (lives in Hackney), another guy on my team had his (Nokia 9000) mobile ripped out of hand and stolen recently in the city, another guy at work reported a man in the street waving a knife around outside his house and it took the Police an hour to respond, and loads of other incidents etc etc etc.
Personally I would rather take my chances against speeding motorists than be shot/stabbed/mugged because I had the audacity to use a mobile in a public place.
