Angry Credit Ratings - credit checks....

I've just logged into a Next account I opened a few months back to buy a shirt and noticed the account was saying payment over-due! Rang them up and it turns out they've been sending the statements to the wrong address so I was unaware of the money owed!

Obviously I cleared it instantly, however Im pis$ed off that this wil now appear on my credit rating

Ive just signed up with Equifax to check my credit report, and it does show up 2 late payments.

From what Ive read the information Equifax holds come from the company you have the credit agreement with, should I ring next and give them hell, and get them to try and get them to update their records or what????

Any advice welcome!

Thanks Devildog - I suppose Experian will also have been informed of late payments and will need to be informed too?

I will certainly be giving Next a call.

Quite probably, yes. Next should be able to sort it out - generally adopting the polite approach works best
