Mine's been nothing but grief. The phone keeps switching itself on and off, the keypad will unlock/lock itself when it wants, the vibrating alert doesn't work, the menu will sometimes open the gallery when I try to open the clock, the battery only lasts a couple of days, and i'm not a heavy user. But the worst thing is that a lot of the time when making/receiving a call the person on the other end can't hear me, so I have to hang up, restart the phone, and call again!
On paper it's a brilliant bit of kit, and i'm sure it would be if it worked properly! I know a few people who have had nothing but problems with them, so I don't think I got the only dud

I really liked the phone itself, however what i didn't like was the fact that it wouldn't communicate with my car kit properly (Remote SIM, for Address Book etc) so I went back to my old faithful 6233.

Probally just needs the firmware putting back to Nokias generic version. The probelm lies when network operators put all thier carp on there.
Are you lot using the latest firmware?

I flashed mine from Orange to generic and then the speaker started cracklling and buzzing a few days later (totally unrelated to the flashing).
Got a new one under Orange Care, so I changed the product code back to Orange again on the old one and crossed my fingers they don't check the firmware on it.
The second and third phones have all had the same earpiece crackle, so in the end I've returned the third phone to a Nokia Service Centre where hopefully they will be fitting an upgraded part.
Otherwise a very good phone, but Nokia just don't seem to build them very well these days.

I've had mine for a couple of months now and am fairly impressed with it!
Has the occassional wobbler when browsing web at home using WiFi link and I try to go faster than the phone can and it will reboot itself, but other than that no problems other problems, works well with Bluetooth headset, camera and video are great quality, phonecalls also are fine.
Sat Nav: Haven't paid for the full on turn by turn directional stuff but have played with the other options and seems alright for a mobile, not as good as TomTom on my PDA, but then it's not a fair comparison as I don't have the same capabilities on the N95 (haven't paid for it.) What I think it will be useful for is finding places when you are on foot and don't have your satnav unit with you.
What I did do however was set up the N95 to use my WiFi connection at home and then use that to download the maps for the satnav otherwise it could be quite a costly exercise to download them all using WAP/GPRS (took about 45mins or so to download)

Sounds like a similar experience to me.
Got mine around the day they came out as a token genture from Orange.
Loaded all my maps on from the MapLoader on Nokia.com.
The wi-fi is handy when you wanna pop on the net quickly too and cant be bothered using the PC.
Used the Sat Nav for the first time properly yesterday picking the car up. If you choose a route then use "start tracking" it runs the route just without prompts. Like following a map book
The phone has been stable as anything, one freeze up in all the time I have had it. All my friends have followed the lead and got them too.
The camera !! WOW !! Love it, and the video and its editing function, how trick
TV out is another great feature, and allows direct video playback into your TV.
Its got so much on it, and I love it to bits

Always was a Nokia fan... till the w800i first came out!! then I’ve been stuck to Sony..
The Nokia N95 has its good & bad sides but this time it’s very very different.....
The Nokia N95 has everything which a person wud require.. But the Q is are you going to use all of it first thing.. second thing.. Have u compared it to other makes.. Third do u enjoy waiting for more then 3 seconds for an application to load up..
Don’t get me wrong people it’s a very nice phone but very very slow!!
It comes with alot of stuff packed up already installed on the software..
One thing which every1 has fallen for was the camera.. Top norch & one of the best at the moment.. Also the USB connector with it is a advantage but the whole point of having a phone is to make call's & at a price at £400 + u expect the dog's *****.. the phones been voted slow & keeps crashing..
I have afew mates who have the phone & have given it back or sold it on
E-Bay...
Sorry people but its best 2 be safe then sorry at this sort of price....

They are only 400 bought offline now, as part of a new contract they are still cheap considering everything it comes with.
As for waiting for things to load, is 3 seconds too long? lol.
Even with loads of apps running there is little delay with mine, and the sat nav has been a saviour.
The send location function is also pretty cool.
Im certainly using quite a lot of the functions on the phone, but as you say, its primary use is calls. Which are superb on it

I was condsidering this for my next phone but I don't think I'll bother reading all this !! I currently have an N73 which has had quite a lot of problems, plus the Symbian OS is really slow and still full of bugs even though I have the latest firmware. I agree Nokia build quality & software is not up to scratch these days.

Check out GSMArena.com - GSM reviews, opinions, votes, manuals, ringtones and more... for a whole load of reviews and scores
N95 is still scored VERY highly.
Dont forget most people are vocal to complain, but rarely to compliment.
Look on the bottom right of the page, current rankings etc
Unbiased site too

STI - I learned the hard way and it took some serious "blowing up" at Orange to get is changed to a 6280 - which works about a million times better but is still flawed.
The software on the N70 was simply a joke. About as user friendly as a jet fighter, constant crashing, almost impossible to send a text and generally utter utter merde.
I nearly went Sony Eriksson but the 6280 does the trick (apart from the tonne of dust behind the screen - grrrrrrr)
