Just had the gypo's floating about.
The house phone rings & its the guy that owns the house at the bottom of the drive.
He tells me that there are three transit tippers sitting at the gates having a look about & too watch out.
So off i jump into the car & shoot down, there they are bold as brass just having a sniff about. I jumps out & asks them whats happening, got the usual nothing governor We are just having a wee rest.
My ****. Next thing there asking if i want my drive done, told them no thanks & asked them to move along as i was waiting on some of the guys coming back with a tractor & they were blocking the drive.
They left but something tells me they will be back.
So i will have to chain shut the gates tonight & keep an eye open for the bast*rds

We had them last week about midnight, they nicked two wheelie bins from up the road, steamed it past my house, parked up on the corner, dropped the bins off with two of the pikey scum, and the van drove off then
They were off to the unit next door to the police training unit to steal all the wire
they do it on a regular occasion, I phoned 999, police turned up, they had gone, but in the morning the two wheelie bins where there full of wire, a few hours later the wheelie bins and wire gone
Police said they dont tax/insure/mot or register their vans, take the bulbs out of the reg plate bulb holders, and leave mud over the reg plates too
And unless they actually catch them in the act there is nothing they can do

FAAC gate automation and a camera would go a long way to help.
I'd have to agree with not getting sh!tty with them unless it comes to the crunch and making the police aware of their presence wouldn't be a bad move either.

Don't mess about.
This will take out them AND their van!
Sisters bf was a sniper for five years and it was his top shooter of choice!
More seriously, I'd get a Dobermann - Lovely dogs but scare the **** out of the uninitiated!

Wasn't aware they were used by the UK, we tend to favour the L96 IIRC..?
Zipping up anorak
Better to go for this bad boy...
.45 calibre silent stopping power, plus with a fire rate such that accuracy don't matter..! Oh baby

L96 is slowly being swapped out for its newer brother, instead of being chambered for .308 its chambered for .338.
UK's got quite a few barretts, the only rifle I have willingly handed back, I hated the bloody thing.
Russian spetsnaz had the best thing I saw, its a 9mm only it sits on a case about the same size as .38 special

Recoil - on the early version I got to play with it was visious as hell.
Dam near broke my shoulder, and I am not kidding. I had a bruise that took 2 weeks to clear, and that was after only 5 shots. Hellish fun hitting 12" discs at 1200 yards though
By all counts now that have considerably improved the hydrolic dampend barrel now so recoil shouldn't be as bad.

Stephen,
If you are considering a dog to protect your property then don't consider a Doberman!! Get yourself a proper dog. First off, electric gates and CCTV.

To be fair the dogs are more for my peace of mind ie barking if they here anything. I have got someone coming over tomorrow to quote me on doing the gates & CCTV. I was trying to hold until next month due to funds so will see what happens.

we had pikeys about the other week.... not offering to do driveways but to shovel horse poop onto the borders....
my dad had ours done - we went mad when he told us - they tried to charge him £200!! but my dad refused and gave them £30.....my elderly(ish) neighbour had it done too.... and she gave them £150 in cash .. all they did was the front borders and a small one at the back.. no more than 1 barrow full of dung..
bleddy scragends
