The reason they're doing it is because they can guarantee when they can get the money in from the customers. Not that I agree with it, but that's what has been banded around...

Just pay by DD and you won't have to cancel

I don't work for BT BTW.... I've just heard lots of horror stories from other companies such as Talk Talk, NTL etc. BT is the lesser of an evil set of providers.

No
They are only charging, people who pay cash or cheque. They did say they would be reducing the line rental charge tho'
This was on Watchdog. All very confusing.
I don't know if it will come off, apparently some governing body is getting involved, very reassuring

I'd better double check. As far as I know, they aren't charging S/O or DD payers. I'm paid in advance most of the time
If they do charge, I shall go elsewhere

On a serious note.

I have my Broadband through BT,and obviously pay line rental.

Have the Telephone with Talk Talk, and they are cheaper, and never had a problem with them unlike BT.

Miss Speye works in a shop with a Pay Point thingy, and she puts on £15 a week,so looks like i may incure a charge too.

I have my Broadband with BT as well. It's off more than it's on
BT reason, you live out in the sticks and at the end of the line, so service can be intermitant. Huh
I may explore other avenues, just in case

Lesley,i have only had one interuption with BT,and the sent me a letter to explain ,when, where, and why i would have this.

Pity the Telephone side of the buisness is not the same.

Im thinking of trying Sky or Talk Talk for Broadband as im out of my 12 month contract with BT now.

My Broadband service is dire, my phone service is ace. You can't win. I am not prepared to pay more though
