I am on Bt openworld, after looking on some of the Mp3 sites, one opened up lots of windows so that I had to reset my computer to get rid of them,Now, everytime I turn my computer on it has changed my homepage to an Mp3 site, How do I stop this as its getting really annoying?

Presume your using MS Internet Explorer...

Click on to Tools, Internet Options; then click the Connections tab. Make sure BT Internet has "default" in brackets, if not highlight BT Internet, then click on the "Set Default" button.

Click on the General Tab, make sure BT Internet appears in the Home Page Address box, then click "Apply".

If, in the COnnections Tab, BT Internet HAS default in brackets, then return to the General tab and type "http://www.btinternet.com/" in the box, then click Apply

Just tried that, but every time I turn the computer off and then back on again it has reset back to the mp3 homepage, any other ideas?

You need to change the registry key at:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]"Default_Page_URL"

Unhappy

You need to run a virus scanner as well.

There is a nasty little virus that can infect you and no matter how bloody hard you try to stop it it will continuously set your home page back to a predetermined ****/warez etc site.

Believe me, been there, been shafted by that.

Think safe, always us anti virus software

This ends my community education announcement.

Exclamation

Matt

Get Explorer up, look in the "Windows" folder, find "regedit.exe", double click to run, follow the path above.

Be careful!
If you need advice, open Online Support under Help on your browser toolbar, do a search for "home page" in Internet Explorer Products field and read through what can be done.

Matt
Maybe a bit more...

Did you find the line with the URL for the mp3 site in it?
If so, you need to highlight and delete the line ( you can only highlight the left side of the line in the right window).
When deleted, close the regedit file.
Re-boot after closing the file?

If this doesn't work, I've no more brain left.
