Default Orange - Customer Service

Have been having problems with my Orange moible phone( as per my thread a while ago).. contracted for 18months but since before Christmas calls have been dropping, when dialling numbers the phone screen shows it's connecting but there is no sound etc just deadness...

people trying to phone me have heard it ring, but then it dies...

Today I thought enough is enough - £35 a month on contract fees, and more often than not I am having issues.
Phoned Customer Services today, adn was told it is the fault of a mini transmitter which has been down since the beginning of Feb and is due to be up and running again tomorrow. I continually pointed out this problem has been happening since December, and not just in my home area.. but they kept saying it was this transmitter and not my handset...

Don't want this problem for the rest of my contract (12 months or so).. just wondered if anyone else has had problems with oramge, and what they did to rectify your issues .. i.e id they provide you with a new handset etc etc?

I've been having a lot of problems with orange too. I got three N73s, one for myself and the others for my fellow employees and they are absolutely garbage. The phone doesn't ring then comes up with a missed call, text messages arrive hours late and sometimes when you try to dial out the screen just displays 'connection error'. Haven't been in touch with customer services about these particular issues, but the last time I called with problems, they fed me the old 'ah its your local transmitter' bollocks as well.
To be honest, I don't really want them to swap the handsets like-for-like as the N73 has been a terrible phone for all my employees who have one.

LG, the simple test is to use your sim card in another unlocked mobile phone. IF the problems persist then its your transmitter(s), or more likely the problems will go away meaning its your phone.

Then you just give them hell until they sort your phone

i was with orange 10 years!!

6 months ago i seen the light and kicked them into touch for o2.

same reasons as you, o2 is much better for me i can have frequent conversations now without re dialling because the calls keep dropping out.

Also when you spend £250 a month on contract you expect much better customer care than oranges excuse for it!!

compared to o2 ..............very sub standard.

I was with orange for around 8 years and all was well until I had a problem with my then panasonic phone. They basically said it was a software problem and that I would have to wait until panasonic released a fix. I said, "so I can't have a phone that works until panasonic decide to fix it then". "yes sir". I cancelled my contract emediately and signed up with Vodafone.

Same here. I had a second hand set with O2 afor a year and their customer service was dreadful.

At least with Orange you can call in the early hours of the morning to change your talk plan!

Have beeen with Orange for years, and this is the first time that I have had recurring fault - to the point that I felt the need to do somethin about it before I chucked the phone out of the window

Thanks for your replies - a mixed bunch then really... guess I'll wait for Mr Young Cocky Git to call me back tomorrow.. and then I'll show him what a redheads anger can really be like

try it in another phone before he calls...then you can tell him to stick his transmitter problems somewhere where the sun don't shine
