House Insurance - laptop accidental damage
Hi,
A few weeks ago, my laptop suffered an attack from our 5 year old, she tripped over the charger lead, pulled it out and snapped the pin inside the computer, the net result of which is that it will no longer charge and a computer repair shop said it cannot be fixed.
Is this something that would be covered under the house content insurance, for accidental damage I have the reciept (£700, 2 years ago) for the laptop and is it worth claiming? What would I expect our policy to go up by if we did claim, (only bought house last april so first policy) or would it be cheaper to get a new one for about £350 at todays prices?.
thanks,

Phone up the insurance company and have a chat. They can be quite helpful sometimes
You'll probably get straight through in a couple of hours
I agree that it probably can be fixed.
My kids filled a video camera up with sand and seawater and it was covered under home insurance with £50 excess.
