BBC loses touring cars

It then leaves more time to cover much more thrilling sports like show jumping and bowls.
Perhaps C4 will actually show the BTCC live???

or darts!!!
or
(flame suit on, standing by open door of very quick getaway car with police escort)
football!!!!
I'd be more than happy if all footbal went to digital or sat stations as I can't stand it, ok so I'm a minority here.
Think a point in case is that the 'premiership show' or whatever it is called was on at prime time on sat afternoon and is now on late evening, hmm, wonder why?

BBC has lost the BTCC, along with the rally and F1. So, this doesn't leave them very much as Channel 4 has the rally and Powertour, ITV has F1 and BTCC, and Eurosport have the FIA touring cars, LeMans and FIA GT.
I recently wrote to the BBC to complain about the sh1te that passed for rally coverage and mentioned that they'd better sort BTCC out before they lost it, too late!

I think it is part of their strategy to lose all the motor sport. It then leaves more time to cover much more thrilling sports like show jumping and bowls.
When there was the Carlos Sainz accident at the British Rally, I am sure the organiser was interviewed and he said that the British Rally was the most spectated event in Britain this year. I'm sure that all motor sport attracts more fans that Wimbledon (the other half's favourite) yet that gets almost continuous coverage for the entire godforsaken fortnight.
Looking forward to much better coverage next year on Channel 4. BTW it is Channel 4 terrestrial and not E4, isn't it?

It is indeed C4 terrestrial - Dave Richards wants the most people possible to be able to watch the WRC
Try the rally section on Autosport's website, there's an article there explaining what C4's coverage will consist of - looks promising, and no Tony Mason in sight

The big difference between WRC and Wimbledon is the cost of covering it. One outside broadcast unit and half a dozen cameras can cover the entire fortnight at wimbledon. Spending the same amount of money on WRC would give about 5 seconds of footage. buch of tight *****

Have to disagree there fast bloke - covering Wimbledon must be much more expensive. Sure, you have the danger that goes with motor sport at the rally, but at Wimbledon insurance premiums must be sky high as it is highly likely that the production crew will suffer the effects of terminal boredom.
Anybody know what time the Tiddlywinks coverage starts?
