The police closed off a whole section of the M42 betweeen the Coventry turn off and the Solihull turnoff. Made everyone divert through birmingham. I thought general roadworks at first but lots and lots of blue flashing lights in the section that was closed off aswell as a huge turnout redirecting the traffic.

Anyone have any idea what happened?

 

Dunno mate, but I can sympathise on behalf of my girlfriend who got diverted on way back to Bristol - this is after it took her 6 and a quarter hours to get up to mine (j30 M1) on Friday night - not impressed!
