.....a couple of weeks ago???
In them there were a couple of ideas about having a kind of Scoobynet Reunion Rave. Well lets do it. There were plenty of people who used to/still DJ and loads of people who were into rave at the time. It would be great if we could hold something that started off with a couple of people playing their current stuff and ending up with a full-on old skool rave. I thought if we had enough people we could maybe have a Marque somewhere have a Scooby meet in the afternoon with BBQ or something and step inside for 'boogie-ing'!!!! Just an idea.....
So what I'm after is....
1) Whether you plus guests would come (idea of numbers etc)
2) Ideas on where to hold it (suggestion already received for near a Travel Inn)
3) If you want to DJ? Old Skool or New Stuff
4) If you can contribute anything else?

I'm up for this. Details as requested:-
1) Whether you plus guests would come (idea of numbers etc)
Just me on me todd. The girlfiend (no typo) is rather closed minded when it comes to anything other than grebo music.
2) Ideas on where to hold it (suggestion already received for near
a Travel Inn)
In/near London.
3) If you want to DJ? Old Skool or New Stuff
I won't be wearing a DJ
Old skool and New stuff mixture
4) If you can contribute anything else?
My presence.

Disco,
Sounds like a great idea m8, still up for it, now and then. Any ideas as to where in the country it would take place. I'm newish to Scoobynet and this sounds like top event to possibly meet some of you like-minded nutters.
Can't DJ to save me life, so no value to add there, but can party very well.

I think it would be fun for you all too meet but it would be nothing like actually being 20-ish again and reliving it all for a night , can you really see a bunch of almost 30 year old plus guys / girls getting really into it, im not sure !
I think you would have a better time actually going to a rave at at club, loads of places will still have old skool rooms etc the actual vibe of a real club will make it a real reunion of those raving days.

Martin- London thing still goes, early next year (your flyer design skills may also be called upon)
Melpaul- I see where you're coming from but, do you think we could keep up with the regular goers of old skool nights??, and having it somewhere a little different was what made it so good all those years ago anyway Alot of us meet at Scooby meets anyway, it would be nice to have one with a twist.
J&N- You're a muppet
Leigh/Jerome- Needs to be an area fairly convenient for all peeps!
Anyone else??? Wheres Cryptwalk, Sal, Bobafett etc it wont be all that cool with just 8 of us

Yeah i am up for making it happen.
We need to decide on a venue. I think the bbq/marquee idea is a good one, we need to find someone with some land where we can do it. I am thinking of somewhere up top end of the M40 (like Warwick/Banbury area - do Prodrive have a big garden hehe ?). What does anyone think of that ?
ANYONE ?

Disco,
Nice idea mate, but looks like everyone is just to old. I'm from the sunny wirral, so M40 region is a little to far for me. Went "out" last weekend for the first time in ages, TOP NIGHT at Society in Liverpool, music was cr*p, but a massive babe fest.
Will keep my eye on the thread.
Cheers,
Leigh

Disco,
myself and quite a few mates would be up for this if it did seriously take off although I doubt that there are really that many on the board that were into it back then.
If you're really into it age ain't nothing to do with it. I've been to umpteen all nighters/weekenders with a strong presence of all age groups. Still see it when I go out now if you go to the right place.

Count me in.
I'll bring a bunch of people along.
I wouldn't mind Dj'ing, either current stuff or old skool stuff, current being my preference.
Fett
P.S.
I have access to a sound system, transport for it may be an issue though...

OK, bttt for one last try at getting more interest.
Otherwise it might have to be a scaled down event, or perhaps just even an Old Skool CD being played at a normal Scooby meet

Make some noise for DJ Dunk in the house !!
Horn massive, whistle massive !
(Okay thats enough of that . . .)
Now ya talkin, depending on the location, I would be up for spinning some chewns for everyone. Got a nice big selection of Old Skool Hardcore, happy hardcore, Drum & Bass and Jungle ranging from 1988 to 2002
Bring ya glowsticks and white gloves
