I don't think this telly is on there but as a general point of review I tend to find that cnet is a good site to check

Although it says "used" at appears to be just a few weeks old hence is really "new". RRP of £1600 for a new one ... is that right or just BS?

That 32" for £399 at Woolies is actually a cracking TV. It's a rebranded Thompson which retails for £800 elsewhere and with an 8ms refresh it's a lot better than a lot of big namers around the £5-600 mark.

£900 starting bid is madness!!

Prices are collapsing all around if you watch .......

LCDs are VERY cheap to produce against Plasmas - they are simply charging Plasma money for LCDs as they know we expect 'that' price level!

LCDs at 37" should be, and will be, £499 by summer 2007.

About 3/4 of a Kilowatt power draw. As are most of these oversized LCD/Plasma TVs

Enjoy your next electricity bill....

50" Panasonic PX60 with wall bracket, including free delivery AND 5yr Panasonic warranty £1610

I demo'd this set against Pioneer, Hitachi, LG and Sony and it won hands down, hence mine will be delivered this Sunday

PS. With the 5yr warranty you also get either X-Men3 or Ice Age 2 free on DVD

Agreed - I spent months researching and "Which Magazine" stated that the Panasonic Plasma Viera is the best plasma flat panel they have tested - EVER

I bought one - they were right, I am right, STI-04 is right

spend your £ take your choice

Went to a party at the weekend - they had a 50 (ish) Bush Plasma
Cost f 'all

And the picture reflected that

And the sound was worse.

I am a firm believer in
QUALITY costs MONEY !
PRUDENCE costs QUALITY !

hardly that big a deal unless you watch TV 24/7 - i have over a kilowatt of lighting on my fish tank! If you can afford a £2k telly i'm sure they can afford the leccy bill!

Viewing angle on plasma's is also a lot greater than with LCD's, so depemding on where you are sitting you may not have a great view.

Don't.....You'll give us nightmares. Thats the equivalent of a debadged 316i with 19" wheels and an M-Tec bodykit. One upmanship for the neighbours.

In my local pub they have Realsys (sp??) 'plasmas' they may as well make the screens from LEDs they are that pixelated.

And the sound was worse - don't tell me they were listening through speakers attached, as they must have been for it so sound pants. How ridiuclous is that? You don't buy a plasma for sound, like you don't buy a speaker and expect to watch the 9 o'clock news on it!

If the sound was pants, and it was run through an amp it was nothing to do with the TV.

I bought a Hitachi 42" plasma last year, brilliant set. Just bought a copy of What Plasma and went and bought the 42" set that was winning all the group tests !

It has a "swivel base" that you control from the remote, and our lounge is quite long, so its perfect - wherever you sit in the room you can swivel the screen to get the best viewing.

As someone else stated earlier, the warranty is FREE, but they are usually IRO £5-600, so given that the set has an RRP of £3750 (although is usually offered around £2.2k on the net), it includes a FREE wallmount, and FREE delivery, and the FREE DVD, I think the link I gave is one Hell of a bargain. As usual, you're abusive having got the facts wrong, ******** I didn't come down in the last shower of rain, and have been looking into a purchase like this for some time. The previous best option would be a price-match with John Lewis, whom include their own FREE 5yr warranty, but this offer was just right in my judgement. The right quality of TV, the right size, a great price (which I'm sure will come down yet further, but how long do you go on waiting ) and everything I need in the bargain.

I bought the Technosonic 32" TV from woolies and it is outstanding for £399!! I'm really chuffed with it and can't wait to have it wall mounted in the bedroom. Just the other day I took delivery of the livingroom TV a 9-series Panasonic commercial panel. Firstly it's not a TV but then I actually prefer that as I have Telewest TV drive and an Onkyo receiver with 5.1 speakers. The plasma picture is outstanding and that was when I turned all the settings down to run her in.

There is a lot of fighting between Pioneer & Panasonic and to a lesser extent Fujitsi (or however its spelt). The bottom line is that these 3 manufacturers are currently knocking out the best plasma's on the market and you won't go far wrong if you get one of them. Which one you go for is down to personal taste - pioneers are known for retention and burn and the panasonic x60 and x600 have some colour rendering problems. Fortunately the 9-series panel has neither of these
