The council in Manchester installed some retractable bollards to stop
people using bus lanes. It's causing a bit of uproar with the public.

PS keep an eye on the windscreen of the white van…

My old uni had 1 of them installed on its bus lane access, but it was a tad slower to react than that.
It started life as grey with 2 yellow hi viz rings on it. Now its black with 2 very dirty yellow not very hi viz rings on it.
Yup you've guessed it, some one followed a bus through, and got the bollard in the sump
And not just in the front of it, right through the middle! Lifted the car up and everything!!!

Call me sad but I've always wanted to stand on one as it comes up out of the ground so I get raised into the air.
Haven't plucked up the courage yet, have to wait until I find one whilst out boozing

This has happened to my MD. He was busy watching a fit young lass walk down the road - he was following a bus and didn't realise that they were going into a restricted zone (part of Cheltenham high street - for those that know it). The bollard came straight up , cracked the sump and left him sitting rather embarrased with oil pouring out of his car. The even funnier bit was that he was in a garage hire car at the time

Surely there's a driving without due care or two involved there
, I bet the police aren't persecuting these fcukwits with the same vigour as speeders though
