we're now in Santa Barbara...honeymoon
this is the first time since leaving San Fancisco on sunday that i've found free internet connection.
honeymoon going very well, picked a huge car up on sunday morning and drove from SF to Monterey to look around, then stayed at Carmel for a night before heading to Cambria (saw Hearst Castle on the way that was mind blowing.. how the other half live!) then went on to Santa Barbara where we are now and leave in the morning for a 5hr drive down to San Diego.
weather fantastic... well into the 80's.
can't understand the way they drive over here with RED stop lights at junctions but cars still jump the red light when wanting to turn RIGHT!!!! been told that it's a Californian thing and not legal!!!!
doing well so far, most museums have been FREE!! or only a few dollars.
theres rest rooms everywhere.... and not full of remnants of drug taking!
been long enough on here now... back to the honeymoon stuff lol

Did a similar trip a few years ago - San Fran to San Diego.
Took in Yosemite - wow
Monteray - sea life centre
17 mile drive across pebble beach golf course to Carmel
Went to the Hog's Breath Inn - owned by Clint Eastwood
Down to Santa Barbara doing Hearst Castle on the way
Then Santa Monica/Marina del Ray
Then Long Beach - Stayed on the original Queen Mary - highly recommended as you're going past if only for a tour round.
San Diego - zoo and water front.
Enjoy !!

Salsa-King - pity you're there on your honeymoon - was in Santa Barbara last year and it's a University town hoaching with 20something Californian ***** that's very keen on our querky British accents ! (even if they contantly mistook my Scottish accent for Irish - LOL ).
