Should be great, DC I think is a great choice for a more gritty realistic Bond. Give the bloke a chance. Though I have to say I always thought the best Bond was Dalton, not very many people's first choice!

looking forward to it, I think he will bring a much needed harder edge to the Bond character which is more in keeping with the times.

Lazenby seems to be a marmite bond. You either love him or hate him. Some say he had the part nailed and others just could not get on with him post-connery.

Apparently, Timothy Dalton was asked to do On Her Majestys Secret Service before George Lazenby but Dalton felt he was too young to pull of the character and would not be a fitting successor to Connery.

Got to love Wikipedia

His acting may not have been the best (not forgetting it was his first acting job) but OHMSS is the best Bond film to date

Yep I'll agree with you, although the films weren't much cop storywise/effects wise I thought Dalton played a pretty good Bond.

I think DC will do a pretty good job, judging by the trailers. Just hope to God(s)/Allah/The Trees/Dog that there aren't any invisble Astons in this one.

Not looking forward to it at all. I already know he kills the bad guy and lives in the end despite having been in the clutches of certain death.

Only liked Bond films when I was young. Now they are just crap.

Agreed on both counts!!

Also, anyone who says that 'The Thin Red Line' was a good film deserves to be made to watch it for all eternity!! My f**king chair feel asleep!!!

I am looking foward to the new Bond film though, partly because it looks like the people making it have realised that Bond needs to evolve. Daniel Craig looks very comfortable in the trailer playing 007 in the making and I like that the younger bond is being portrayed as tougher, meaner, less refined, less, well, cheesy, than old Bond!

Dalton was a good actor: good actors can't play the role of 'Old' Bond!

Best 'old' Bond by far -and no arguments please- was Roger Moore!

I've always liked the Bond films.......from the Sean Connery stuff to present day. Personally thought Pierce Brosnan really did a good job and I am not sure how well the new dude is gonna come across. Happy to give him the benefit the doubt but will be slating him if the film is crap

After Connery, Moore and Brosnan (and a little bit Dalton) he's completely wrong for the role

I think he's about right, don't forget, this is James Bond in the making; the early days- he supposed to be meaner and rougher!

Saw the preview this week at the cinema - won't be rushing to see it

I think he is the wrong choice albeit closer to the original character but not the movie character

That's why this one might be halfway decent. That is if it's true to the book.

I'm looking forward to it - got to at least give the guy a chance.

I'm just glad it wasn't Clive Owen, why anyone thinks he's a good actor is beyond me.

Agreed, people have been way to quick to dismiss Daniel Craig. I think if people watch the trailer, they'd have to conceed that he looks very comfortable in the role.

Clive Owen would not have been right for the part IMHO, but I would have given him the benefit of the doubt too!
