For owners of Sony Ericsson K800i
Is there any way of stopping a preview of text messages when you recieve one? I.e can you just have the name of the sender instead of the 1st line of the text too?
It may well get me in trouble if I leave my phone lying around!!

Dont think so m8. The K750 is the same. Cant get rid of the preview. Love the phone but that preview is a stupid idea by sony. Actually the Nokia 6111 is the same.

2) What is your GF looking through your phone without your consent for? You'd still have to select the messages menu to get the preview?
Sounds like there is a trust problem lurking somewhere here; question is, is the suspicion warranted?

My old 750i never previewed the texts, not sure if there was an option to turn it off?
My new K800i arrived this morning and I've not had chance to have a good look at it yet anyway!

ok, do the following and you should get 3 options
1. go into Inbox
the last text recieved should be highlighted
2.click MORE
3. scroll down to LIST OPTIONS
4. click LIST OPTIONS
5. select NO DETAILS
then return to INBOX and hey presto just the NAME should appear

Slightly off topic..
I'm thinking of upgrading my K750 to a K800 in the next couple of weeks. Only thing that puts me off if the joystick is crap on my K750 - it lets too much dust in and that seems to stop it working properly.
Not seen a K800 in the flesh, but can anyone say if they have done anything to try and fix this problem please?
Cheers

..
go into settings, new events and change the setting from "activity menu" to "pop-up".
then it just tells you you have received a text message, shows you the number its from and prompts if you want to read it now

Blokes texting another girl per se shouldn't be a problem; like all forms of communication it's the content and context that matters!

Give that man a pat on the back
Although having a list of 14 girls names in your inbox may also give the game away
