........a bankers cheque to clear?

If I stick it in the bank on monday morning, when should it clear by?
The Bankers cheque is from Barclays, my account is at Lloyds.
Im guessing 5 clear days, but can I speed up the process anyhow, ie, pay a small fee?

Anyone know?

you have to be carefull accepting bankers cheques from people as there is alot of forgeries going about !!!

im sure the bank will tell you after a day or so if the cheque was fake !!!

 

If your going to stick it in the bank on Monday then why don't you ask them when you get there Cliff

 

Wasn't there a procedure called "counter cheque" when you could get the money against your cheque instantly? If the cheque did not clear in 5 days,bank would charge you a little sum on top of the fund they have given you against that cheque

 

You can get it cleared by "special presentation" it'll cost you about £20 but then your bank will find out the next day whether it's cleared or not
