Question Television engineers, can I pick your brains?

Our Hitachi telly is a few years old now and about ready for replacement, but a while ago, a white code number in inch-high letters appeared on the upper third of the screen and it won't go away.

The code is C 2846TN 311.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Is it easily rectifiable?

TIA

its most likely *removeable * through the menu settings Bubba, but without seeing the set, Im not 100% sure of the correct buttons to press.. if you still have (or can get hold of) an instruction manual, you may be able to get it sorted

Ben, thanks ever so much for that, but we bought the set ex-rental and it didn't come with the original handset. We have an Argos replacement, but I doubt that we can get that to work.

Google is fantastic.

I wonder what it means by "rec" buttons. The TV doesn't record and no video machine came with it.

Hmm, not sure. Possibly a remote that could work a VCR if you brought one aswell

If it's an all for one remote, could you set/download the codes and do it that way?
