Anyone else using Captial One credit card
Just wondered what your thoughts on them are. I've had no option but to shut my account with them due to statements turning up after the date I'm due to pay them. This has been going on for months and its just got a bit boring. I've also got 2 work friends who are shutting thier accounts with them for the same reason.
Is this normal for them or are some of us just unlucky ?

There's a couple of Capital One employees on here, not sure if they want to comment.
I used to work at Capital One, but cannot comment on anything that's going on there now. Used to have a Capital One card, and it was largely trouble free and competetive.

They are extremely poor at admin based on my experiences with them.
I was amazed at how unprofessional they were e.g. hand written envelopes with only half the address, loads of mistakes and completely unhelpful when contacted by phone. And all this just at the application stage!!
I didn't proceed with their card.

Well, it's funny you should mention it, but I've had a problem with my online banking when paying them through it. I am sure I am paying it OK, and then when I get my statement, no payment received. I know I should check it more, but I'm busy being a Mum and business woman!!
I have now resorted to the old-fashioned method of posting them a cheque, which kinda defeats the object......
My advice is get an MBNA credit card - they give them to anyone, well they gave me one, and whenever I make an error on my account, I call the very nice people in Cheshire (nice accents!) and they credit back the late charges. It pays to be a girlie sometimes!!!

I applied for a Capital One card over the phone, got the paperwork through but decided I didn't need one so never signed it. Next thing the card arrives and they'd done a balance transfer from my Barclaycard onto the Capital One
. Took me weeks to sort out and then finally got a letter of apology with some bull$hitty excuse.
Just my experience of course, I'm sure they have many happy customers but I ain't, and never will be, one of them.
