Question Where are the decent bars & clubs in Manchester?

Booked a night at the Malmaison on Sunday for me and the missus.

Been to manchester a few itmes recently but not found where the best bars are (not looked either).

I know the main shopping areas and the chinese quarter, where do I head for to find the bars?

Cheers in advance

Decent Bars:
The Cocoa Rooms, Panacea, Living Room, Label, Loaf, Bar Ca, Prohibition, Revolution

Bars to avoid:
Square Bar, Teasers, Walkabout, Jumpin Jaks, Moon Under The Water

Decent clubs:
Club V, Sankeys, Ampersand, North, Paparazzi

If you're there this Sunday you might want to check out the Secret Ball - Masters @ Work are playing, it's going to be one of the best nights Manchester has seen for a long time: http://www.thesecretball.com/

Take care,
Rik.

At the weekends, especially when football's on, it's full of hooligans. I've witnessed massive brawls spilling out from there more than once. Plus, they don't play music at all. It's sh*t.

Yeah, to be safe, just head for Deansgate Locks.

Was just gonna suggest the bars on the locks too, they get busy late on but are generally pretty good. Try and blag the VIP sections, theres a bit more room to move up there

Another vote for the locks and Castlefield too, although it has gone a little quiet lately..that could be what you want..??

Ampersand is hard to beat for end of the night.Avoid Peter St and everything on there, its Chav alley..
