info deeded on speeding
few weeks ago the boss got flashed by a gatso in a works van
he's on 9 points so told the police someone else from the company was driving, they asked who and was told it could be any of 20 people
( only him & 1 other every one else has their own van )
the other bloke was on holiday that day so was not driving and his time sheet says so
the boss posted the £60 fine & a letter saying he did not know the driver
what happens next anyone know

What happens next is the Police who monitor SN, will inform Wakefield local constab to thumb through issued speeding tickets from a couple of weeks ago.
They will then find what you have mentioned above and do the boss for with-holding.
I suggest that either you remove your post ASAP or "what happens next" is a knock on the door.....
Or perhaps you really do want the boss done??

I think the clue is WAKEFIELD to give them a head start.
Then find someone with 9 points.
My comments were a little sarcastic, but then perhaps I have to add a few smilies to give the clue away.
Chris - i'm a little puzzled as to why you want to know what happens next.
Either its nothing or else its further enquiries.....

then the registerd keeper will cop the 3 points, if its your MD then no doubt he will order an investigation, and he will be found out, and the fine & points given to him, and he,ll prolly be sacked for misconduct.
9 points and he speeds, i have no sympathy, prehaps a ban will give him time to think !!

I thought that in these circumstances it had to go to court, and if it could be proven beyond reasonable doubt that the identity of the driver was not confirmed, then a larger fine was usually imposed on the registered keeper, but no points. Wasn't this the scenario that got the Hamiltons off with no points but a £2k fine

I saw something on an old top gear that said if a magistrate couldnt prove who was at the wheel at the time then no fine/points could be imposed. That may have changed.
I would suggest that the police dont have enough time to waste pursuing such enquiries, when the time could be better spent on other areas, but i think we all know thats not true.

From: Tellins, Home of Super Leagues finest, and where a "split" is not all it seems.
Boss should just take the points/fine/ban on the chin as he's obviously in no fit state to drive on our roads and is a dangers to others...
