Hi guys,
I've searched the forum but couldnt find what I was looking for so hopefully someone can help.
In a few weeks I start a new job as a taxi driver so I am looking for a sat nav and a speed camera device but need some help.
I've been looking at the road angel navigator which is pretty much an all in one peice of kit for about £450ish
http://www.roadangel.co.uk/products/...tor/index.html
or possibly getting two:
New road angel or new road angel compact:
http://www.roadangel.co.uk/products/...gel/index.html
http://www.roadangel.co.uk/products/...act/index.html
and a tomtom one:
http://www.tomtom.com/products/produ...143&Language=1
Please can I have some help in choosing the best option for me please. my budget is £600 - £620, dont wanna spend more that that.
Preferably the sat nav needs to be able to locate things like hospitals, main pubs, clubs etc, police stations, rail stations etc.
Bit stuck on what to choose, cheers for the help.

There's the Snooper Indago too: http://snooper.intranetics.co.uk/snooper-indago.htm
They're supposed to be more portable than the Road Angel Nav, don't know anything more about them but the guy I was chatting to (who sells both) recommended the Snooper over the Road Angel.
Cheers,
Steve

There's a new set of Tomtom Go units coming out (510, 710 and 910) versions as per their website (www.tomtom.com.)
That's probably why there's so many deals at Comet / Currys etc on the existing models... Tomtom Go 700 now £350 - originally twice that figure

it doesnt have a camera detecter does it?

I bought one of the cut price Tomtom 700s the other week and its really good. Theres an offer code on the box so you can download the speed camera sites to it as well, so my snooper S6-R is somewhat redundant now.

thinking of sending mine back as well
i crashes about twice every two weeks. and it takes ages tgo find me sometimes..in fact i have made an entire journey into work and its finds me as i pull into the car park.
fecking useless if you ask me..
satnav should work immediately, not 40 mins later
sending them an email to ask about returns or repairs.
not too impressed by your returns you have done as well sara.

I once went all the way from Cambridge to Stansted down the M11 before it "found" me.And on one journey in Essex it was giving me directions as if I was driving on the A27 near Brighton.
They sent a "Version 2" SD card to try but it was no better so it was returned.
Like you say it must work immediately & be 100% reliable.

i thought yours was the cats danglies
now ive seen the tom tom features the RA pales into insignificance

mine has frozen about 5 times and i havnt had it for a week yet. i split a nail trying to use the tiny on/off switch., and mine takes ages to find my position, even though i am high up here. it doesnt do a thing thats of any use
