Why do I LOVE......
Following on from the X5 thread, which is the car you dream of owning most, not necessarily the most exotic or expensive, but the car that it is your ambition to own.............. Whether or not certain people may judge you and your family for owning it!
Mine currently is a DODGE VIPER........ Few flaws, but had one round a track for a few laps and loved it, and feel one day it could be on my drive......

An original GT40 with provenance. I wouldn't give a toss what other people thought of me for driving it and neither would I if someone gave me an X5 and I drove that!
That's the difference, I'm able to accept the truth of the way other people will stereotype without giving a flying ****.
I mean there isn't anyone on here who thinks a stickered up Impreza and wearing a rally jacket gives one 'cred', is there?
Similarly I don't imagine anyone seeing me driving the 3 series I'm leasing will think anything other than 'look at the rep and his crappy Bavarian mondeo'.

Lambo Countach - mainly just because it was such an iconic car when I was growing up - did actually have a look at the prices of them recently, and it looks like around £50K+ for a decent one !
Cant justify spending that much on something that is probably going to spend most of its time in the garage being fixed. ( and apparently they are pretty crap to drive compared to modern cars ).

The question is if you had the money, would you buy the car of your dreams? I had the opportunity to buy a new Porsche Turbo a couple of years ago (Silly, internet stock prices!) and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. So much money on a car just seemed criminal. I bought a Supra in the end and was happy.

Wanted an Aston all my driving life, but can't stretch to that so will have to put up with my M3 Evo for now!

I have always wanted a black mkII Escort RS2000, a neighbour across from my 'rents used to have a red T plater with a black (possibly vinyl) roof. Never saw it driven once, just brought out and washed every few months, what a car.
If I were to pick something modern then a CSL or DB9.
