I very rarely have dreams.......
eat more cheese
Dunno if its normal or not, but apparently we have loads of dreams in the night and the reason theyre so wierd is because you only remember parts of them and theyre pieced together in your head, maybe you have a cr@p memory and cant remember that you've been dreaming at all
I dream all the time, if I go to sleep thinking about something then I will probably have a dream about it and end up having a bad nights sleep and be very tired in the morning.

I suspect more a case of having them but not remembering them. Dreams are associated with REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep which occurs before deep sleep. Apparantley it's an essential part of sleep, believed in part to be the brains time to reorganise the information it has absorbed during the day.

That said, I very rarely do either. Only if I've a lot to think about when I go to bed. Cheese, for some reason, stops me sleeping altogether, so I try and avoid it before bed
All people dream, its a normal part of the sleep process,
what is happening is they you are waking up long after the rem period, and therefore dont remember the dream.
afaik if you wake up around a 10 minute window after rem sleep, you will remember the dream, or parts of it.
if your really skilled you can stop, start and reenter a dream.
i have a dream that i know can never happen, so as soon as this dream starts i can stop it straight away, or if i want run with it and then change the outcome

A bit of a freaky thread as I have been remembering most of my dreams from the previous night's kip when I awake in the morning for about the past four months. They are not pretty or nice.
They actually scare the $hit out of me and when you think you are screaming out loud in a dream, well I have verification I was doing it. It's a sad day when you are afraid to go to bed.
Also, I tend to wake up with a song going through my mind, and not one I've listened to for a while or even own a copy of; it might be the fillings I have left in my teeth picking up the radio reception! eg. and the list is not conclusive (I don't even like half of them!) :
Artist / Composer Song
Carly Simon Clowns In My Coffee
? Rule Britannia - Rebellious Scots to Crush (!).
Leo Sayer
Jeff Beck Hi Ho Silver Lining
Genesis Abacab (WTF?)
Hall & Oates? Call On Me
Jimi Hendrix Purple Haze
The Animals The House of the Rising Sun
Deep Purple Smoke On The Water
Deep Purple Child In Time
Carl Orff Fortuna, Imperatrix Mundi

Taking a lot of 5-HTP (that rapidly boosts Seratonin production in the brain) can make you have much more vivid dreams too.

I frequently wake myself (and Bob) up trying to shout or scream during a nightmare. I get loads of them but don't know why as I don't feel stressed or unhappy. Maybe I'm just wierd?
Perhaps I should write them down and make a fortune Stephen King stylee

To dream the impossible dream,
to fight the unbeatable foe,
to bear with unbearable sorrow,
to run where the brave dare not go.
To right the unrightable wrong,
to love pure and chaste from afar,
to try when your arms are too weary,
to reach the unreachable star.
This is my quest,
to follow that star --
no matter how hopeless,
no matter how far.
To fight for the right
without question or pause,
to be willing to march into hell for a
heavenly cause.
And I know if I'll only be true to this
glorious quest
that my heart will be peaceful and calm
when I'm laid to my rest.
And the world will be better for this,
that one man scorned and covered with scars
still strove with his last ounce of courage.

The best lucid dreams you can ever have are after being awake several days on amphetamines, so desperately, desperately tired, but at the same time some element of you brain is awake. They can be so lucid they appear real and are completely controllable, like playing a computer game in your head.
.....apparently.

I've thought about cataloguing my dreams but it would be an enormous task and to revisit the experiences would probably be detrimental to me.
There is no "medication" involved.
Mucho weirdness only.

Could this be stress related then?
