Default Opinions on High Definition TV

Was just hoping to get any opinions.

I'm thinking of buying this 37" Toshiba HD LCD TV

http://www.rgbdirect.co.uk/Referrer....ReferrerCode=2

Resolution looks very good at 1366 x 768 and also has 2 HDMI inputs.

I've been using a Toshiba 36" CRT for over 3 years now and have been very impressed with it.

Anyone got this set or know anything about it??

I'm also selling my 2 Panasonic Viera 32" LCDs with built-in Freeview in the for sale section at a very good price.

Take a look here http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...97#post5180497

Cheers

Hanley

Yes I have got this tv. Bought it after seeing over 1200 posts about it over on avforums.co.uk.

It's an excellent set, and you can probably get John Lewis to price-match it. They advertise it on their website for £1995 but i got it for £1573. And that's with the standard 5-year warranty that John Lewis give with all their tellys.

What about the 37" Phillips with 1920x1080 resolution?

Looks as though it has all the good specs alright. That HD Scart lead is a bit pricey!

HDMI leads are a bit pricey, be easier to run cables though as they look like a USB lead, hoepfully a lot easier to hide than a fat scart lead

Did you get John lewis to price match at £1573??

If so, who was the price match with? I went into John Lewis in the Trafford Centre today and they refused to price match a website, only a store price.

Cheers

Hanley

I did indeed get the price-match @ £1573.

I got it by phoning the Glasgow store (my nearest store), and telling them i'd heard their Trafford Centre store was doing a price match. They phoned me back an hour later and said they would do it for that price too!

I have no idea who Trafford Centre was price-matching with, but i believe JL only lower their price for 28 days. Have a look @ the thread on avfroums.com & you might find the info you need.
