1) The car carries on - he may be turning in to his drive a few yards later
2) He maintains the speed when it may not be safe to do so later
3) Another person will step in to the road without looking

The flaw is that the 'logic' is irrelevant. To say speeding saves lives uses the same logic that speeding kills. Both are wrong.
In the case of the vid, the speeding meant that he didn't run the chap over. In another situation, he ran someone else over. Or put it this way, walking fast/slow kills We're all concentrating on the speed of the car, what about the speed of the pedestrian
Anyway, the vid isn't meant to be serious, just a laugh.

I agree that "speed" is not what kills, I think that's kind of what it was trying to get across. Speed only becomes a factor once a collision / accident is unavoidable.

Can't open the video for some reason.
Lots of factors cause accidents of course and speed is just one of them. The faster you go the smaller the margins for escaping an accident and as Olly says, when you actually have one, the faster you are going, the worse the result is likely to be. You can't quote speed as the only cause but it is all part of it eventually.

Arent car vs pedestrian accidents supposed to be 80% fatal? The pedestrian in the clip must be hard as nails, 'cos he obviously just dusts himself off and has another go at getting across.
Actually the most astonishing thing is that the 206 isn't totalled in the first one!!!!
