Default Digital Video Camera Help

Hello

I recorded some things on a relatively new panasonic video camera (to Mini-DV) in Longplay mode. I am trying to play this back on another camera and it says "unplayable tape".

The one I recorded on was NTSC, and this is PAL, does that make a difference?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Steve

Yes it does make a difference, as the two systems are incompatible.

A DECENT camera/video shop, (not Dixons et al), may be able to help, they used to be able to "convert" full sized video cassettes, so a phone call may solve your prob.

Hello

That's painful, I thought that Mini-DV tapes were all the same, and I could play them back.

Sigh.

iirc NTSC is american and PAL is uk versions? ie: not compatible with each other. why we all dont have one system is beyond me.

well its not beyond me actually, its fairly obvious its about money.
