Thumbs up

Many thanks, loads to digest

Greeny, Weddings in Cheshire, just South of Manchester - bit of a trek methinks.

There is a DJ provided, I'm up there this weekend so I'm going to meet him and discuss a few things. If its not what we're after then I will be looking for alternatives

I thought house DJ's didn't do weddings? In all seriousness thanks for the offer

No bother. Just tell him what to play, you're paying him afterall!

I'd do a wedding where I can play mainly house (yours would rock if the dj plays half the tunes listed).

Am Djing an engagement party soon which should be fun as the folks who are getting married just want me to play old ibiza anthems, wicked!

Astraboy, how long did that list take you!!

Great list. I'm looking for half and half, with a good amount of 60's, 70's and 80s cheese myself.

The monkees, temptations, foundations, otis redding, the beatles, james brown, dexys midnight runners, all the standard!

Any ideas for "first dance" songs?

For someone who can't dance!

Its the sole reason I didn't invite you to the wedding

TBH I don't think a 3 hour set of hard house will get many people on the floor. Even with carfully constructed peaks and troughs, LOL

So mainstream it is

from a Dj's point of view....

they hate it when you give them a long list like that! part of the enjoyment of DJing is thinking of songs that you think the crowd will enjoy, not being a glorified juke box...

thats what i thought in my mobile disco days anyway...

oooh, and

sandy b - make the world go round
wild child - renegade master
MAW - to be in love
Ayla - follow me
strech & vern - i'm alive

Just stick on As heard on Radio Soulwax Part 2 by 2ManyDJ's, a bit of everything mixed up and mashed together from Dolly Parton through Destiny's Child to Basement Jaxx. (Here's an example)
