Hey people,
Always been fascinated by Japan/its people/ and ladies
and always wanted to go there for a few months.
Was wondering how hard it would be as an English speaking Brit , both to get a Visa, and to get some sort of casual work for the couple of months i'd be there....??? And weather there high cost of living is compensated by the wages at all???
Thanks
Wez

Dont need a visa if you are a uk national...unless you plan on working or staying for more than 6 months...

To that Id add: few people speak English and those who can will probably be reluctant to in case they arent very good. The cost of living in Japan is extremely high too, particularly in cities and especially in Tokyo.

Hello
I lived in Nara Japan for 8 months. I had a great time but 8 months was long enough for me. A few points
The language is ok to grasp the basics for speaking. But reading it is a nightmare and once you try to take your speaking to the next level it is ridiculously hard.
Cost of living is not cheap at all and from what ive seen the wages do not compensate that.
Food is excellent though, can't complain. Beer was around 4-5 quid a pint.
The country has lots to see and do and if you have the time its fun to travel round having said that the trains are quite expensive with a return ticket from Osaka to Tokyo on the bullet train being 180 quid
I don't want to put you off because i had a great time, i was just lucky my company paid for all of my expenses otherwise i think i would have struggled to survive
Trying to get work wont be easy. Outside of the big cities like tokyo, osaka, fukuoka etc the english language is very limited.
Anyway good luck in whatever you decide to do

mmm, my monies are quite limited so think that would put a damper on any chances. Was hoping the language thing would be more like germany where the majority seem to speak better english than me! bit further away i guess!
If i did go, it would more likely be Tokyo then find out the other places of interest whilst there. though from the sounds of it, it wont be more than a dream for some time to come....
ps. i love japenese women!!!!!!!
