Default Autotrader problems!!

Just put MY97 on Autotrader website and magazine to try to sell it (notice i said try?!) with a very clear strap line of 'No agents, no canvassers'. Within 4 days of putting it on i've had calls to my mobile from the same number 01592 777800 pretty much every hour. At first i was polite, 'No thank you i don't want to give you my address so you can send me some magazine!' but after about the 5th time i purposely rang them back telling them not to ring again.

Guess what?

Now they are ringing saying they are a different company but after same details!! Maybe it's just cynical me or is this very sus? Anyone else had this problem? I'm planning on speaking to the trader to see if they have had other complaints. I told them the last time i was reporting them to my sevice provider as a nuisance caller and they shut up big time!!! To date they've been 2 different companies!!

I have had this problem in the past. They reckon to know the car and have buyers lined up. Fu$king annoying as I specifically said no agencies or canvassers.

Told em I was only interested if they sold it and then I would pay them any money. Had some heated debates.

I don't know how you are supposed to stop it.

Damian.

I was coming to say that! TPS; its a criminal offence for them to call you whether they get your number from a list or from a magazine; an unsolicited call is an unsolicited call.

A couple of prosecutions will close the parasites down.

Yup I had this recently. Said they had buyers lined up (not like Cardata though). I asked how do you know you've got definite buyers for my import Scooby? Gave some blurb about "we finance your vehicle to customers for the full retail price...", thus not actually answering the question. I just laughed and said, "Nice try, I'm not interested" and put the phone down.

Makes me angry that less suspecting people will be reeled in.
