Steve Fossett completes non-stop solo round world flight.
Whoa - what a hero!!! Let's hear it for this major ground breaking achievement.
Wow, a non-stop solo flight right around the world what an amazing achievement. He has more ***** than anyone on this board.
Oh – hold on… he’s not a Brit or female!! Oh well, that doesn’t count then….. Who cares....

As someone who was climbing the walls after 21 hours in business class, with a bed, and food, air con, tv/radio etc, i have to say how he spent 67 hours in a 7 foot box, with a couple of portholes actually flying is beyond me.
Well done, fantastic achievement.

I think he just used autopilot, and a proximity warning. Everyone knows airlne pilots only do take off and landing, and even then not the whole time. This allowed him to sleep half the time, and amuse himself with dodgy **** channels he could get clearly by being so close to the satellites.
Undoubtedly a a great achievement, but it really is just down to staying awake and having the right equipment. I don't mean to belittle him, more to suggest that the support team and everyone involved in the project is equally worthy.

TBH I think the acholades should go to the engineers who designed a jet powered aircraft to go around the world non-stop without refuelling. Steve Fossett was just a passenger, I don't think it took any special skill.

The entire operation deserves praise, including Steve Fossett of course since it is not that easy to fly an aircraft for that length of time and to keep it on course and safe from bad weather conditions which could wreck the aircraft etc.
The reason for doing it is all part of human endeavour which has been going on since we came into existence and without which the world would be nothing!
It certainly does not deserve snide and carping criticism especially from those who have not got the bottle or ability to do something similar.

Either that, or a catheter or one of these http://www.innovations.co.uk/gus/pro...XDTN5NC8V64VB0

Yes B in J of course I could have done it, but I also know very well the graft that would go into a trip like that and also the undoubted risks involved. Thats why I "take my hat off" to him.
Its not just a "breeze" to do a trip like that, just as much as sailing single handed around the World.
