Angry Selling Car - Canvassers

I know this has been done before but i feel like ranting.

Just had my first call regarding my car which is up for sale in the Autotrader, from a canvasser.

It says "no canvassers" on the ad, I mention this to matey and he sparks up "oh but we're not canvassers, we just want to put your car on our database - where we have lots of buyers waiting".

So i just said, "look mate, unless you're personally interested in buying my car, **** off and stop wasting my ******* time".

I hate these parasites

People who call up offering to help you sell your car, take some money off you, and give you little or nothing back in return.

There's one company in particular who are notoriously bad, they've been mentioned on here and people have written to Top Gear complaining about them. Might have been them who called, not sure - i didn't get that far into the conversation.

Very reasonable response IMHO. I still want to know who these alleged buyers are who are so inept they can't simply pick up the mag for themselves and get on the phone. They're a total waste of time - I sold my last car to a proper scooby enthusiast through a popular specialist web site

go through all the detail, ask them to repeat, write down who they are and where from. then hang up before they do - you'll feel a little better for wasting some of their time in return!

you should say
in that case, why not buy the car off you.
and sell it again for a slightly higher price and make a bigger profit

Yeah, i did after telling him not to call again.

Annoying really, as you think "awesome, someone's going to buy my car!" and then you realise it's just a bunch of scammers.

As long as you're realistic with price, I've found s/net to be superb. OK, canvassing over
