New Microwave oven - any experts?
Wife fancies a combination microwave oven/grill type thing.
Huge variety of prices...
she likes the idea of 'choas defrost' on the Panasonic ones...
eg http://www.coopelectricalshop.co.uk/...&source=NEXTAG
Anyway - what features are worth paying for and where is a good place to get one for min cost?
Ta!

Oven / grill with the microwave no substitute for the real thing of course............. but for caravan / boat etc - you might as well go for the combination ,so cheap ..as they are..

Have to slightly disagree there with Pete, I've had several microwaves. The really cheap ones that I've bought all heated through very unevenly. Maybe you can get a decent one for £50, but I doubt it.
Best I've had is my current one which is a Panasonic Inverter type with chaos defrost. Not expensive either (about £90 iirc).
Pete's right about the other bit though, dont bother with a combo grill model unless you KNOW you are going to use it, hardly ever used the grill on mine. Roast chicken just doesn't taste the same as one cooked in a traditional oven!

I bought a large Sharpe Jet combi oven about 10 years ago. I found that the oven was superior to the built in oven in our kitchen, and used it in preference... It was expensive at £400 but it was superb.
Still going strong btw.
