Default Replacement car key....alternative to main dealer?

Our Galaxy has (had) 3 keys, a remote thingy - lost- a normal key - lost - and a little plastic emergency thing - only one left!

main dealer want £100 (remote) or £30 (normal) + cutting...is there an aftermarket place for these things? I cant see how a remote can be worth £100????

get a job in the automotive industry then!!!!

unless you know someone who can....then its hard cash..

we could explore the root cause in depth... but i doubt you would accept it..

unfortunatly there is no way round this try a search.. there was a post a while back about a company who specialise in replacement fobs /coding etc

You don't want to start the car.... there's an inherent risk of going a bit fast and getting some points and a fine.

What's more funny is that I used to work in a Ford dealership and can still take advantage of hefty staff discounts on parts and labour

Any independent garage with the facilities (box o' tricks) to access the car's ECU's and program the keys, can do it for a more conservative price.

Normally it's about £25 + the cost of the blank unprogrammed fob/key.

Dont know if this will work, but if the same key is used as the Mondeo, you'll be in luck...
