UK driving licenses issued in Northern Ireland are valid for 10 years.

Question

Aren't the photocard ones valid for about 10 years, while paper ones are valid until 70th birthday?

This is my understanding too. One of the reasons I havn't bothered changing the address on my paper licence is because I don't want a crappy 2 part licence that expires in 10 years!!

All Licences are valid until your 70th Birthday, the photo card part only has a 10 year limit, you just need to re-new that part to update your photo as you age........

Don't get stopped then, failure to notify the DVLA of a change of address carries a £2000 fine, unless of course your V5 and Insurance are still at the old address as well!!

My photo license (just been sent off due to address change) had cat B expiry on my 70th birthday and cat C and C+E on my 40th.

I have been stopped 3 times in 7 years with it! One producer, and two lots of speeding tax!

I just told them that the address was my parents house.... which is true.... it was..... until they moved! All the other documents were at the correct address. When you surrender the licence for the endorsements you can request it is returned to the car registration address!

'The vehicles registered keeper may not be the vehicles legal owner'- thats the main get out clause for your point mentioned above methinks......
