Weird American President Facts
Found this, found it a bit spooky .....
Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.
Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.
Now it gets really weird.
Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.
Southerners assassinated both.
Southerners named Johnson succeeded both.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.
John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.
Now hang on to your seat.
Lincoln was shot at the theatre named 'Ford.' Kennedy was shot in a car called 'Lincoln' made by 'Ford.' Lincoln was shot in a theatre and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse. Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theatre.
Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.
And here's the kicker..
A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland. A week before Kennedy was shot, and he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Erm:
John Wilkes Booth was born in Bel Air, Maryland, on 10th May, 1838. He was the ninth of ten children born to the famous actor, Junius Brutus Booth.

Otherwise, yeah - those are odd coincidences.

I've just read a book called 'Beyond Coincedence'. It is, unsurprisingly, all about coincidences, but from a scientfic view. It's basically all about probability, and that if something can happen, it will happen. It mentions the Lincoln Kennedy thing, but points out that there are obviously more things that do not match up than do.
Another example is when you go on holiday to the other side of the world, and meet someone who you haven't seen for years, and you think, 'wow, what a coincidence!'. But realistically, think of all the pople you bumped into on that holiday, you had nothing in common with them at all, but didn't thinkn much about that. People only recall things that are important or seem out of the ordinary, but in actual fact, they are just another instance of something you experience constantly.
It's quite an interesting read, and of course, if full of conincedences that make you go' wow, ain't that strange?'

Yeah, there are some belters in there. Some old biddies actually dealt four perfect hands in bridge in 1998, it gives the odds and they are incredible, but it just shows that if somehting can happen, it will.
