Which Air Pistol?

Which Air Pistol?
Wanna buy an Air Pistol for a bit of fun target practice in the garden.
What should I get?
Never owned one before been looking at;
http://www.airgunbuyer.com/Showprodu...=CO2%20Pistols
I'm thinking one of....
Anics Brocock F1
Walther Beretta XX-TREME
Rohm Twinmaster All-Rounder
I know there all very different, but I don't know what I'm after?
I've only got a small garden (10-20m) in length and I thought a rifle would be overkill
anyone know any good message boards - i've seen people discussing shooting on here b4
cheers

I've got an Anics Brocock F1 which I got from BAR...
It knocks holes in 'stuff' and seems reasonable, though I can't get it to zero the sights - as it shoots too low for the max adjustment on the sights. I sent the first back to BAR as it did this, and the second one also does it.
So - seem quite powerful, especially with a full CO2 cylinder - reasonably well made, though due to the mech they do jam now and again (not a problem). Only down side is the crap sights / accuracy - and, if you use the double action (ie just pull the trigger) then don't expect kids/women to be able to comfortably use it, as it's a hefty trigger. Single action is quite sensitive however, and manual cocking is easy.
If you want to know more, let me know.

Mate, I've owned about 25 air pistols, Berettas, CP88's, PPK's, Mak's, Sig's, Colts, Brococks etc etc and they are excellent fun. The Anics is a bit of a dog, quite plastic and has a poor trigger. The CP88's are one of the best auto clones but the Beretta that you are looking at is also excellent - and it's a Beretta, looks like a Beretta, feels like a Beretta.... !!!! The Rohm is miles better to shoot and will be more accurate but I reckon it won't be as much fun as the Beretta (and fun is what it's all about)

Pistols can be scoped quite nicely, my CP88 competition is extremely accurate.
An air rifle in a small garden would be overkill, and probably a lot more money, and not as much fun.
GO FOR THE BERETTA - you can always sell it later if you get bored with it, it would be easier to shift than the Rohm

Well, I've got a BSA 240 Magnum and its superb - I didn't go for the girlie gas cylinder types!! With mine you need to be a man to **** it and it'll blow the ***** off a midgie at 30 paces!!
If you've got Gold Wheels, better stick with the gas canister type - the 'pump' pistols are way too scary for the Marigolds amongst us
This is interesting:-

Pete - in the time it takes you to **** the BSA Magnum and shoot one Midge (God I hate Midgies) we could have fired off three mags from the girly gas gun's and wasted 24 of the baby mozzie scum.
Nevetas has a fantastic countryside management business http://www.country-breeze.co.uk/ where you can have a days shooting or join a syndicate, and the land is FAC approved so you could apply for a firearms/shotgun cert which allows you to purchase real toys, assuming you pass all the police checks. I very nearly joined him but living so far away was too much of a bind, however I'm now shooting in comps at the local rifle club but this is also Home Office approved which meant I have been able to buy a .357 Winchester 1894 underlever rifle and a semi auto AR-15 which is the dogs danglies for target shooting, no good for garden plinking though

I think I'm going to get the Twinmaster Top - as it already has an anatomical grip it seems like better value than the Action
I was also going to get the CO2 adapter, to begin with, as I'm not at all sure about charging. I don't wanna be getting scuba bottles immediately and I guess the only other option is a real hard work pump? If you can get a pump for the Rohm? Or a compressor???
What about a red dot sight (maybe at a later stage). Also, what's the difference between a weaver rail and a dovetail rail?
I assume one or the other is required to add a sight?
Are Blackpool Air Rifles goop people to buy from? Good on price
Top is £279 inc bits (mags, case, adpater).
CO2 adapter is £45.
What about 2nd hand?
cheers

Yeah I known in there because I have more guns than the actual shop
They do do pistols, give them a bell in the morning ask to speak to Peter or Tell and they will sort you out

Handy little things to keep under your pillow to 'discourage vermin' around the house. What are the legal restrictions?

Rohm Top is a great pistol but do consider the compressed air route rather than Co2. Because of the way Co2 cools the pistol your consistancy won't be great.
But, as all the parts on the Rohm TwinMaster can be upgraded, I would suggest you get the Top and get the Co2 kit to start with. Have some fun, kill some sheets of paper etc. If you really get into it, then worry about getting a compressed air source, sights etc.
Cheers

Sako is pretty much the best 'out of the box'
Also look at Cooper although I've heard of quality problems.
Only way you will get much better is if you start going down the custom route.

Cheers Nevetas. I'll have a trawl through the Sako catalogue and look at the Cooper kit.
Friend has a Sako TRG-42 with some custom work. Now that *is* a long range weapon. We all reckon he gets hired out for "jobs".
Cheers
