Can a Gatso (not truvelo) get you as you're coming towards it?

TelBoy is correct, they flash but can't catch the car.

I've seen some road layouts have the lines painted on both sides of the road so that they can spin the camera to catch the other side of the road when they want.

White lines on both sides of the road are actually there to stop people using the oncoming lane to avoid detection (in most cases)...

As said by others, if you are travelling towards a GATSO they can't get you. GATSO's are what I call 'rear facing' in other words, they take a picture of the rear of your car, where Truvelo are front facing and take a picture of the front of your car.

Have personally driven towards gatso's and activated them and never had anything in the mail. If you're evil, you do it when a car is going the other way, then they think they have been flashed. Nasty thing to do and I'd never condone it

Telboy I stand corrected

But some of the roads I've seen have white lines and then a camera and then white lines again. Something simlar to this:

-> -> -> ||||||||||
|||||||| [G] <- <- <-

The arrows indicate the direction of travel. And G indicates the Gatso. The Gatso only has a camera on one side so I can't see how travelling in the other lane could allow someone to avoid detection.

Never seen that configuration to be honest.

Nat. The camera flashed at between 9 - 11% over the driving limit. I'd say this was fair. I've seen posts on here that people have been issued NIP's for doing 32 in a 30 zone.

I'm not saying that I condone speed cameras at all. I feel that they have their place (outside schools, city centres, when workers are on the road.), not on national speed limit roads.
