Legal and cool - has had slightly erroneous effects on my shape and condition over the years - but getting lost in booze is great. In fact this weekends my birthday weekend (30 on Sat) and starting tonight is a 72 hour liver obliteration excercise...
Hmm Hmm

Jye - i'll have a scotch, mainly. or a malt if you have any. or failing that a beer. or a rum. a grappa. a brandy. a vodka. even a g&t on a sunny day. a glass of wine. then another.

what's yours?

Emm, nice Bordeaux for me would be usual, never seem to remember many good wines (must be a consumption/price thingy ), non plussed really, but if it's half decent then it's fine by me. Scotch, hmmm, you'd need a night out up here for discussions on that one, not that I'm huge fan btw but can waffle about peat when required. Vodka's of any worth, imo with whatever fresh fruit juice is available, can waffle about potatoes anol when required. Beers, aye, perhaps but a bit fizz=zy, brandy, aye now and again for the immune system or summat, lol, G&T yer a sloe is OK for a nice house bender like All in moderation of course, moderated by me on a bad day with prejudice

bordeaux; i've had a few. but then again, too few to mention.

boom tssshh

<takes a bow>

i usually only drink wine with food. i am a wine snob, but i don't like to drink it as a drinking drink, in the main. prefer the old half and half for that. as for peat - in general i prefer yer speysides. drinking the last dregs of a bottle of benromach right now. although for the compostible side, i do have a bottle of port elen that i dip into every now and again. but my main squeeze is sainsbury's 5 year old (the one with the blue label ), canada dry, twist of lime, ice cube.

that'll do nicely.

From the Grauniad's live football commentary:

Preamble: The teams emerge from the dressing rooms, but the camera man is too busy picking gorgeous female fans out of the crowd to bother with that kind of nonsense. Unlike the female fans from some nations I could mention, these ladies don't drink 25 pints a week each - and it shows.

He has a point...

alcohol is great stuff but generally it has far worse effects that drugs ever had. the way i see it get drunk and take drugs as much as ya like, u only live once and if u die while shooting up heroin and drinking special brew at a young age, least for a short while u were happy as ****

I find if I have more than 3 or 4 pints that it does some rather "interesting" things to my guts the next day!!

Hmm, perhaps thats my problem, I can drink loads but never get a hangover or dodgy guts. Two bottles of wine or a bottle of spirits and I wake up like any other morning. Saying that it usually is just 'another' morning lol In fact I think I should be dead I am a bit parra about drinking these days and usually pop some milk thistle caps in the hope that I can still somehow save whats left of my liver

jeez - donnu whether you are lucky or on a one way ticket. i would have to say that hangovers were/are the main reason i (try) to moderate my drinking. a full on session can leave me f*cked up for two days. i remember one time after a prolonged bout of scotch and stella, i was trying to get some breakfast together and i blacked out in the kitchen. it was scary sh*t. i thought i was gonna die. also turning up to work and having to dash off to the toilets to puke up my first cup of tea. nice. great for your career prospects, too. these days i try to limit it to 6 or 7 pints and an early night. still don't feel exactly great this morning.

and also a little bit

lol, I wonder who has just woken up with a hangover this morning PC

I think the one way ticket bit for me is looking good, that and the increasing waistline. I do know when I've overdone it though, sinus pains due to dehydration likely. Perhaps thats my hangover

apparently the liver can recover quite well if it isn't totally naplamed. i occassionally take those vitamin b pills. no idea of they do any good - other than make your p*ss go bright yellow.

Vitamin B12 is what you need - couple of them the morning after and your conscience is clear
