Are we all bored talking about Iraq etc ?
I know CWE no longer exists etc... but from the lack of threads you would think that is no longer "a problem". Flags are apparently, cat poop is
, but Iraq... nah.
This in a period where the situation has never been more difficult/bloody, and with the "independant government" only a few days away. Also with lots of information coming out of the US hearings... pipelines being blow up... IMHO never been "hotter" before ? :confused
I won't do a poll, as they get up to 50 pages
but: do you think this new government will change anything ?

Short term?? Nope not much, they don't have the infrastructure in place to be self sufficient, they need the allied troops there to deal with unrest (no comment on the effectiveness).
It seems to be tribal in Iraq at the moment after so many years of opression, so until they sort that out between themselves I don't see things getting much better

what, did something happen in Iraq?
I didn't notice - all I see is arabs blowing each other and anyone else in the area to pieces, and they've been doing that since gunpowder was invented, haven't they?
Best just let them get on with it. As T H Lawrence said "the arabs are a barbarous people, a cruel people"... (at least thats what he said in the film, I assume it was actually something he said in real life
) and from what I've seen in the news for the last twenty years that's the opinion I've formed. I'd never go anywhere near the middle east.
More than welcome to have my admitedly TV/news formed opinion changed, the few arabic people I've met I've found to be very pleasant - but I'm sure they'd still cut my head off if I was in the wrong place at the wrong time as far as they were concerned.
