WTF?
Football players missing training due to blisters? Blisters are surely only a problem after a long period of non-playing, and/or new shoes?

What next? SAS soldiers fail in fight in Iraq due to taking week off to let their blisters recover

To quote BBC News :

"David Beckham, Sol Campbell and Steven Gerrard were also on the sidelines on Tuesday after suffering blisters on their feet in the opening game."

No idea if it's relevant, but I'd like to point out that it's like an oven out here at present.

Either that, or they're just building up excuses for not beating the Swiss

What do you think, tiggers?

So that explains the **** ups by Beckham and Gerrard.
What was Heskes' excuse?
Perhaps a blister on the brain - I have heard this would disrupt rational thought and make you tackle a player from behind, just on the edge of the box.
