Yes unfortunately I fell for the missed call trick with mobile phones. however I was under the assumption that the numbers would be of the same type as mobile numbers.
But it seams they are.
Just so no one else gets caught out. This is the number of the scammers: 07039 157733
It only cost me 61p until I realised but if I could lay my fingers on the tw@t who set this up

Surely that is a mobile number with 07.
Thinking out loud here, maybe the caller was abroad and you phoned back and it was genuine?
61p for how long?
Simple cross network call?

when my mobile is out of action I can forward any incoming call to my landline, perhaps the mobile No you called just forwarded it on to the premium rate No.

I will explain what happened.
I had a phone call which rang about two times before I could answer. I dialed the number back and it just rang. I then hung up, to notice that it said call ended, which it does not do unless I connect.
So I assume it automatically connected and played a ringing tune on a computer automatically??
I then check my bill and a series of 3 attempts combining to less then a minute cost me 61p.
I get free calls to mobiles and still have plenty of minutes left so I am assuming that it is a premium number for them to make money from it and for me to have been charged??

I was under the impression that the scammers wudn't use 07 numbers and as I am often contacted by people whos number I don't know just returned the call.
Shall not be doing that in future.
