eBay & haggling AFTER you've won an auction?
Just reading this piece by James May, about a 1275GT Mini he won on eBay.
In it, he says he won the auction, travelled to get the car, noticed it didn't look quite as good as described on eBay and so haggled £300 off the price.
Surely the seller is well within his eBay rights to tell James May to p1ss off, leave VERY negative feedback, and re-list it?

The same thing happened to my Dad with Ebay when he bought a car that was nowhere near as good as described.
He went up, haggled over the car and got £200 or so off it. The guy then sent arsey e-mails to us, ebay etc saying we haggled over a perfectly good, as described, car etc.
BUT somebody else bid a similar amount (£1 less in fact) and if he was that disgusted with the offer about it then maybe he should have sold it to him (as per Ebay rules) but perhaps greed got the better and he reailsed everyone else would do the same thing with it after seeing it in the flesh.
I agree if its not as described then previous bids should go out the window as buying things without seeing them relies a lot on the integrity of the seller.

when it comes to cars for sale on ebay, you should look at the car first BEFORE you bid on it, after all, how do you know it's not a minger, the seller may be as nice as pie, but how do you know you can trust him.
I wouldn't buy cars on ebay, I personally think that you're asking for trouble
